Philipp Lahm has agreed a new three-year contract with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

The Germany international will sign a three-and-a-half year deal, keeping him at the Allianz Arena until 2012, according to a report in Kicker.

The news comes just three weeks after Bayern withdrew a contract offer following extensive negotiations.

However, incoming coach Jurgen Klinsmann has persuaded the left back to stay in Bavaria.

"I had very good talks with the board and also with new coach Jurgen Klinsmann," Lahm said.

"I felt a real sense of excitement as far as the future of the club is concerned and that convinced me."
