Schwarzer: Wants good contract

Mark Schwarzer has called on Middlesbrough to make him an offer he cannot refuse.

The goalkeeper's current contract expires in the summer and he could leave on a free transfer.

The likes of Juventus, Bayern Munich and Celtic have all been linked with a move for the Australian international if he does leave The Riverside.

Middlesbrough have offered the long-serving custodian a new deal and Schwarzer wants the club to pull out all the stops to keep him on Teesside.

"I had a very long conversation with Gareth Southgate last week and he expressed that desire to me, that he wants me to stay at the club," Schwarzer told The Sunday Sun.

"I told him I hadn't made a decision yet and he fully understands that position.

"Now they've stepped up and said they want to keep me, I told him it's up to the club to work out a deal."
