Ridsdale in striker hint

At least one of Fowler and Hasselbaink likely to leave

Peter Ridsdale does not expect both Robbie Fowler and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink to be at Cardiff City next season.

The veteran strike duo are holding talks regarding their futures at Ninian Park, with Cardiff having a one-year option on the two players.

However, Bluebirds chairman Ridsdale admits it is 'highly unlikely' that the Championship side will keep both Fowler and Hasselbaink.

"If I was a betting man, I would say it's highly unlikely the two of them will be with us next year," Ridsdale told icwales.

Hasselbaink has scored nine goals in 44 appearances for Cardiff since joining the club on a free transfer from Charlton Athletic last summer.

Former Liverpool striker Fowler's impact in South Wales has been restricted by a hip injury, with the 33-year-old without a first-team appearance since before Christmas.
