Commons: Set for Derby

Skysports.com understands Kris Commons has agreed a deal to join Derby after leaving Nottingham Forest.

Highly-rated midfielder Commons left Forest last week after seeing out his contract at the City Ground.

A number of clubs are thought to be interested in Commons, but it appears Derby have won the race for his signature.

Derby have confirmed they have held talks with Commons over a move to Pride Park as they look to build a squad capable of winning promotion back to the Premier League.

Talks are believed to have gone well between both parties with Commons expected to sign a three-year deal.

Rams boss Paul Jewell is a big fan of the creative midfielder and is expected to make Commons his second signing of the summer after the capture of Paul Connolly from Plymouth.
