Edwards: Expecting tough game

Trinidad & Tobago midfielder Carlos Edwards is looking forward to testing himself against England in Sunday's friendly.

Edwards missed most of Sunderland's Premier League campaign with a broken leg but he is fit to line up for his country in Port of Spain.

The match will be England's second of the week with Fabio Capello's men also locking horns with USA at Wembley on Wednesday.

Edwards expects England to be highly motivated after missing out on a place in Euro 2008 but is confident that Trinidad & Tobago will be competitive.

Massive

The former Luton winger said: "It will be nice to face these guys on home soil. I have been playing in England for around eight or nine years so having them here to play against us is going to be massive.

"I will have no choice but to up my game a notch and hopefully we can get a positive result.

"I know England definitely will be coming here to put on a good show because those guys are playing for a pick for their World Cup qualifiers.

"This game has a lot of interest in it. It's not just for the team but for the country as a whole."
