Thierry Henry has admitted he was overjoyed to win his 100th cap in France's friendly against Colombia on Tuesday night.

The Barcelona striker started the match to become only the sixth Frenchman to reach a century of appearances at international level.

He was not at his best and was booed by the Stade de France crowd when he was substituted 15 minutes from time, but he has spoken of his pride at hitting the milestone.

"My 100th cap is something beautiful, it is the reward for my work," he told French media.

"I don't think there are a lot of forwards in the greatest national teams that have reached such a number.

"Booing when I was substituted? It is usual. It is not the first time there has been booing at Stade de France.

"We had some before leaving for the 2006 World Cup and in the end we reached the final."

Henry believes there were encouraging signs in the 1-0 victory over Colombia for France to build on at Euro 2008.

He explained: "It is good to prepare for Euro with a win, even if we could have shown more of a killer instinct in attack.

"Anyway, I noticed between Karim Benzema, Franck Ribery and myself that we had good passes, and several chances."
