Kenny Miller insists he did not have to think twice about rejoining Rangers despite protests from the club's fans.

Miller first played for Rangers during the 2000/01 season but, after a five-year spell with Wolves, he controversially joined Celtic, upsetting many Rangers supporters.

The Scotland striker joined Derby at the start of last season but, in February, he revealed he was keen to move back to Ibrox.

As the move edged closer to completion, Rangers fans made their objections to the move known during last month's Scottish Cup final, but Miller insists he was simply overjoyed to get another chance.

"I'm delighted - the smile has yet to go off my face," he told Rangers World.

"I'm over the moon. It's taken a bit longer than I expected, but I'm absolutely delighted."

Reunion

Miller established a strong relationship with management duo Walter Smith and Ally McCoist while they were with the national team and says that the chance to reunite with them was another bonus.

"It was never in doubt. When I spoke to the manager about it, a lot of things go through your mind, but the chance to come back to a club like this and work with the manager and coaches that are here was a no-brainer for me.

"When a club like Rangers comes calling, it's always going to be hard to knock that back anyway.

"I worked with the manager and assistant manager at Scotland, which just really added to it for me.

"I get on well with Walter and Ally both on and off the field and I felt they got the best out of me for the national team. Hopefully that will continue next season."
