Dunn: Happy with Ince appointment

Blackburn midfielder David Dunn believes Paul Ince will continue the winning mentality Mark Hughes brought to Ewood Park.

Ince was confirmed as Hughes' successor on Sunday, with the former Blackburn boss having moved on to Manchester City earlier in the summer.

Dunn is confident that former England international Ince, who is taking on his first top-flight job after stints with Macclesfield and MK Dons, will bring success to the North West.

Ambitious

He told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "I'm looking forward to working with him.

"He's obviously done well at the last two clubs he's been at, and I'm sure he'll be a big success here too.

"He's young, he's ambitious, and he was a terrific player as well so, in many ways, he's like Mark Hughes.

"Both were winners as players, and they like to instil that in their players too."

Dunn knows that Ince will have his own ideas, but is happy to be making a fresh start ahead of the new season.

Changes

Dunn added: "Whenever a new manager comes in, it's inevitable there are going to be changes, so I'm looking forward to seeing what new ideas he brings in.

"It was disappointing to lose Mark Hughes, as I said at the time, but that's football.

"Now this is a fresh start for everyone, and I'm looking forward to the challenge.

"Paul was a great player and a real leader, and I'm sure he'll prove to be exactly the same as a manager."
