Germany match-winner Philipp Lahm hailed his goal against Turkey as one of the best moments of his career.

Lahm struck in the final minute to give Germany a thrilling 3-2 victory in Basel and send them into Sunday's final.

The Bayern Munich star admitted Germany struggled to produce their best and he was relieved to score the score the winner to make up for his mistake in Turkey's second goal.

"It is one of the most beautiful moments of my career," said Lahm.

"We didn't play well. Turkey believed in themselves and made life difficult for us.

"We fought for the goal till the end. I should not have comitted the error that led to the second goal. That is why I am happy to have helped the team to win the match.

"We're going to celebrate first of all and then prepare for the final. We want to win the title. The atmosphere here is sensational."
