Dougie Freedman would consider a permanent switch to Leeds but has ruled out joining the Yorkshire club on loan.

The Crystal Palace striker spent the final three months of last season on loan at Elland Road after falling out of favour with Neil Warnock.

He is not sure whether he has a future at Selhurst Park and is waiting to hold talks with Eagles boss Warnock.

The 34-year-old has previously stated that he would like to fight for a place at Palace but he would also be open to a switch elsewhere.

However, he is adamant that if he does return to Gary McAllister's side, it could not be another temporary arrangement.

"I'm very open-minded about Leeds," Freedman told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"I don't have a clue what my future holds but I really enjoyed my time there and I know better than to rule anything out.

"One thing I have closed the door on is another loan at Leeds.

"If I was to move to Leeds or another club that's further away, I'd have to do it right and do it properly - it would have to be permanent."

Freedman scored six goals during his time at Leeds last term as they reached the League One play-off final.
