Andy Butler has completed his move from Scunthorpe United to Huddersfield Town.

The 24-year-old central defender has concurred on a three-year deal after successful negotiations with Terriers boss Stan Ternent.

Butler is confident that he is joining a club very much on the up; of the opinion that a push for League One promotion is well within their capabilities next season.

"I've known about the possibility of coming here for a while, but it's good to have it all sorted," he told the club's official website.

"Huddersfield is a massive club with a lot going for it at the moment; the ground is obviously unbelievable, but for a League One club to have sold 16,000 season tickets is amazing. It's going to be brilliant to be playing in front of that many people every other week and hopefully they will get behind us and drive us on."

Butler admits that his mind was made up after meeting Ternent: "It's a real buzz to be here and hopefully I can do the business.

"I'd never come across the manager before but I really liked what he had to say and everything seems to be coming together here at the moment; we seem destined for promotion, but now it's up to us to do it."
