Kamara: In happier times

Fulham striker Diomansy Kamara is set to be sidelined for the next six months as he faces up to the prospect of knee surgery.

The Senegal international is to undergo reconstructive surgery on Friday and is not expected to return until early next year.

Kamara, 27-years-old, ruptured a cruciate ligament playing for Senegal against Liberia last month.

The former Portsmouth and West Brom front-man has endured a disappointing time since swapping the Hawthorns for Craven Cottage last summer.

"The club estimates that Diomansy will be out of action for six months," said a statement on the club's website.

Goalkeeper Antti Niemi had surgery on a wrist injury at the weekend but is expected to be back in training within three weeks.
