Kanu will sign a new contract at Portsmouth, insisting there are 'no problems' with the terms on offer.
The Nigerian striker was automatically entitled to a new 12-month deal at Fratton Park after making a specified number of appearances last season.
However, Kanu suggested last week that he deserved a two-year contract due to his role in Pompey's success after scoring the winning goal in the FA Cup final.
Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie was bemused by the claims and expected Kanu to sign when he returned to pre-season training.
Kanu is confident he will be staying on the South Coast, but admits he could sign his new contract in his homeland.
"There is no problem with the contract," Kanu told KickOffNigeria.com.
"There are just some little details that we need to discuss about. But I will sign the contract.
"I want to stay with Portsmouth. Maybe I will even sign it in Nigeria."
