Cole hails Scolari impact

Chelsea midfielder impressed by new boss' methods

Joe Cole believes Luiz Felipe Scolari is the manager he has been 'waiting his whole career for' after being bowled over by the Brazilian's first couple of days at Chelsea. On Tuesday, Scolari took to the floor in front of the world's media for the first time as Chelsea boss and put on a faultless show - in English - which was praised by the majority present. And it would appear it is not just the media he has won over, with Cole quick to pay tribute to the former Portugal and Brazil coach, who won the World Cup with his native country when at the helm in 2002. Cole, who has previously worked under the likes of Jose Mourinho and Sven Goran Eriksson, believes Scolari's tactical mantra embraces the 'right way' to play and he is looking forward to learning from an attack-minded coach.

Cole: Can't wait for season start

"I'm getting a good vibe from him. It is early days but he seems very approachable and has a huge football pedigree," Cole told the club's official website.

"I'm really excited to play for him, I'm chomping at the bit to get fit and out there. The way he sets his teams up, I've been waiting for it my entire career - a manager who wants to play the right way. I'm nearly 27 now, and have been waiting for someone like him to come along.

"He already has the respect of the boys and has settled in nicely. I think it's going to be happy days for everyone.

"From what I know about the way he set up Portugal and Brazil, and watching them play it was beautiful football, there are plenty of players who like to get the ball down, I'm so excited."
