Wenger: Praise for Hleb

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted he is 'comfortable' with the decision to let Alexander Hleb join Barcelona.

The midfielder sealed an £11.9million move to the Spanish giants earlier on Wednesday to end a three-year association with the Gunners.

He was a regular starter during his time with the Premier League club and Wenger has thanked him for his contribution.

Wenger has also allowed Mathieu Flamini to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer but he maintains that he is not concerned by the current situation at Arsenal.

The French tactician remains focused on the forthcoming campaign and confident that his side will be ready for the big kick-off against West Brom on 16th August.

Thank

"We must firstly thank Alex for his contribution towards Arsenal Football Club during his time with us," Wenger said on the club's official website.

"Alex played a significant role in the three seasons he was with the club.

"We are comfortable with our decision to let him go and we are all looking forward to continuing our preparations for the new season ahead."
