Schwarzer: Happy

Fulham new boys Mark Schwarzer and Zoltan Gera insist they did the right thing in moving to the club.

Both players signed for Fulham on free transfers after shunning new deals at their previous clubs.

Schwarzer joined The Cottagers from Middlesbrough, after more than a decade on Teesside, whilst Gera quit West Brom following a four-year stint in the Black Country.

"I had been at Middlesbrough for a long, long time, I had a tremendous time," Schwarzer told Sky Sports News.

"I just felt for me and my career to move on I needed a new challenge, and Fulham was great for me."

Likewise Gera explained why he opted for Fulham: "I had four great years at West Brom.

"I needed a new experience, a new team and that is why I joined Fulham. They wanted me very much and it is a good change for me."

Another of the club's new signings John Pantsil revealed he has lofty ambitions after joining.

"It is important to make fans happy, and the club - the club is important for me now - I can see us in the Champions League or Uefa Cup, that is what I am thinking about," he said.
