Terry: Looking to prove himself

John Terry believes all of Chelsea's players will be scrapping for places when their pre-season tour of China begins next week.

The Blues will play three games in Asia followed by the Railways Cup in Russia.

Terry expects the coming weeks to be more intense than usual as everyone at the club looks to catch the eye of Luiz Felipe Scolari.

The Brazilian only took up his post at the start of the month and is still shaping the squad he inherited from Avram Grant.

Terry has been told he will remain as captain but he realises that he must first prove himself to the new manager.

"We are all professionals and, with the new manager, all of the players will want to impress him to make sure we are a part of his plans," Terry said on the club's official website.
