Arsenal's youngsters proved the future is bright with a 2-1 success over Barnet in their familiar pre-season friendly.

The Gunners did start with the likes of Manuel Almunia, Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy, Theo Walcott, Nicklas Bendtner on show along with giving a debut to £5million summer signing Aaron Ramsey.

However, it was the League Two side who opened the scoring and deservedly so through Kenny Gillet, who beat Almunia down low at his near post.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger made a string of second half substitutions and two of those players managed to find the back of the net as Arsenal claimed a 2-1 success.

Firstly Jay Simpson, who spent time with Millwall last season, finished off a fine move from eight yards out before teenage Dutch striker Nacer Barazite secured the won on 73 minutes.
