Gorkss: Set for Loftus Road
Queens Park Rangers are keen for the protracted transfer saga involving Kaspars Gorkss to be resolved.
The Hoops have been tracking the Blackpool defender for some time and believed that they were closing in on a deal.
However, the Latvian has still not arrived at Loftus Road and the two clubs have become embroiled in a bitter bust-up.
The Seasiders claim that an illegal approach was made for their player, while Rangers deny any wrongdoing.
With no conclusion in sight, QPR boss Iain Dowie admits that he is desperate for the situation to come to a close.
"Yes, we'd like to get Kaspars here," he said in The Gazette.
"We've put a bid on that we believe is the right bid, given the clause in his contract, and I felt that was fine.
"Certainly I haven't talked to anyone untoward, but this is obviously rumbling on and that's for people in a higher position than me to deal with.
"We've made our choice and we hope to see it over the line, but we'll have to wait and see."
It seems certain that the deal will eventually be pushed through, with Daniel Nardiello then set to move in the opposite direction.
The striker has been included as part of cash-plus-players offer and admits that he expects to be on the move in the coming weeks.
"There's things going on - negotiations and things like that," said the former Barnsley forward.
"I can't really say I'm going to be here in the near future. I think I'll be getting off. I've just got to sort a few things out."
There is also a possibility that a second Rangers player will accompany the £250,000 transfer fee, with Zesh Rahman and Chris Barker the names which have been mooted.
Meanwhile, Blackpool youngsters Dominic Merella and Ross Lloyd have penned their first professional contracts at Bloomfield Road.
The pair have been handed six-month deals after featuring heavily in Simon Grayson's pre-season plans.
