Watson: In demand

Crystal Palace have turned down a number of fresh offers for midfielder Ben Watson.

The 22-year-old has just one year remaining on his current contract and has rejected Palace's offer of a new deal.

The Eagles are willing to listen to bids for the Watson but they are adamant that he will only leave for the right price.

Queens Park Rangers have already had a £1.25million offer rebuffed, and manager Neil Warnock has now admitted that more Championship clubs have tried to sign Watson.

"We have had a few more enquiries for Ben which is why I pulled him out of the game last night as I didn't want him injured," Warnock told the South London Guardian.

"They were better bids but not acceptable."

Speculation suggests that QPR and Nottingham Forest are the clubs to have bid for Watson, while Birmingham have also been linked.
