Lehmann: Has returned to Germany

Jens Lehmann has warned Emmanuel Adebayor he would be a fool to leave Arsenal.

Last season's top goalscorer at Emirates Stadium has persistently been linked with a move to either Milan or Barcelona, in a summer that has seen the Togo international do little to quell the speculation.

While Adebayor may feel the grass is greener away from the capital, Lehmann - who left Arsenal in the summer - believes the powerful striker would rue an exit in time.

Stars such as Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Nicolas Anelka have struggled to replicate their best form since leaving the club, while historically the likes of Marc Overmars and Emmanuel Petit never recaptured the heights of playing under Arsene Wenger when they departed for pastures new.

"If you look at every player who's left Arsenal, they've not managed to shine at their new club," said Lehmann.

"It's wrong to write off Arsenal. Everyone did so last season and we nearly won the Premier League title."
