Ronaldo: J-League move denied

Ronaldo's agent has played down reports the Brazilian striker could be set to join J-League outfit Kashima Antlers.

The ex-AC Milan, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Barcelona and PSV Eindhoven ace is currently out of action with the career-threatening knee injury sustained in February.

While Ronaldo is concentrating on regaining his fitness that has not stopped the rumour mill speculating who the former Fifa World Player of the Year could join next.

One of those clubs is Kashima Antlers, although the 31-year-old's representative Fabiano Farah claims no one from the J-League club have been in touch.

"There is nothing to tell about Kashima Antlers. Nobody asked me about Ronaldo," Farah told Globoesporte.com.

"Nobody from the board called me or even intermediaries. His priority now is to recover."

Farah has confirmed Ronaldo is up and running again, although it will not be until later this month when his return date can be established.

"Ronaldo has to make a final exam in Paris in mid-August to know exactly the date of his return to the pitch," he continued.

"He has been doing three sessions a day for the last three weeks. In the last couple of days he's also played tennis.

"The other day he played a two-and-a-half-hour match and didn't feel anything. That proves he is all right."
