Artur Boruc has revealed there was no point in him leaving Celtic as he is happy with life at Parkhead.

The Polish shot-stopper was linked with a move away from Celtic over the summer, with the likes of Milan credited with holding an interest.

However, Boruc says he decided to stay on because he would struggle to find the challenges he has at Celtic elsewhere.

"There was lots of talk about me leaving in the summer but I'm still here and I'm happy with that," Boruc told the Daily Record.

Not a problem

"It is not a problem for me to stay here and that's what people have to understand. There was no point in me changing club for a team that was a similar size to Celtic but one which does not always make the Champions League or have 60,000 fans behind you.

"To me there is no point when I have all that at Celtic. I'm really happy in my football and in my life right now.

"I've a new child and things are settled with my football and that's good. The aim for this season is simple. Win the title again for the fourth season and then do better in the Champions League.

"Of course it's great that the fans like me. But a hero? Listen, I'm just a goalie, nothing more."
