Lehmann: England chance

Jens Lehmann could be set to make one final appearance for Germany against England in November.

The former Arsenal custodian announced his retirement from international football on Friday, but Germany's team manager Oliver Bierhoff claims the 38-year-old could be given a send-off against Fabio Capello's men in Berlin on November 19th.

"I can't imagine that Jens wants to end his international career with the defeat in the Euro 2008 final," Bierhoff told Bild am Sonntag.

"There is the possibility of him playing a part in a friendly to say goodbye."

Bierhoff added that a farewell appearance in Berlin's Olympic Stadium would be appropriate for Lehmann as it was there that he performed heroics to help his team knock out Argentina in a penalty shoot-out at the 2006 World Cup.

"The game (against England) would be an appropriate stage, as Jens has very good memories of Berlin," he said.
