Deco: Brings balance to Chelsea

Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari believes summer signing Deco will bring balance to the team.

The Brazilian-born Portugal international remains Scolari's only signing since replacing Avram Grant as Blues boss.

Scolari does not think Deco can change games on his own, but feels his presence on the pitch will help the team perform at a higher level.

"He gives a balance to the team, which is important for us," stated the former Portugal and Brazil coach.

Difference

"He cannot make all the difference on his own but with the team he can because he always has time.

"He has time to shoot, time to stop the ball and time to play a short or a long pass.

"His character is different and important to us because with him other players can grow.

"Deco can play in any league in the world. When they signed a contract with me I told them I want one player - Deco."

One more wanted

Scolari has confirmed he wants one more player, believed to be Real Madrid's Robinho, although he stopped short of divulging his name.

"I would like one more player but I will not say his name," he continued. "I said if they wanted to change things they needed this player - and they tried."
