Northern Ireland have seen four players withdraw from their squad ahead of a friendly date with Scotland.

National coach Nigel Worthington is currently preparing his troops for Wednesday's trip to Hampden Park.

However, the former Norwich boss has seen his plans thrown into disarray on the back of a minor injury crisis.

Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty has a hamstring problem and will play no part, while West Ham full-back George McCartney is recovering from a bout of pneumonia.

Fulham defender, and Northern Ireland captain, Aaron Hughes and Sheffield United winger Keith Gillespie both have ankle injuries.

Worthington is set to put the remaining members of his squad through their paces at Stirling University on Monday in the build-up to the midweek international.
