Phil Brown believes Hull's opening day victory over Fulham provides the perfect platform in the battle to survive in the top flight.

The Tigers came from behind to defeat Fulham at KC Stadium on Saturday thanks to goals from Geovanni and Caleb Folan in the club's first Premier League outing.

However, manager Brown does not want his players to rest on their laurels and is eager to move on.

Hull travel to Blackburn next weekend looking to add to their winning start to the season and Brown is keen for his players to continue learning.

"We have got the first three points under our belts and it is something physical to build on," Brown told Sky Sports News on Monday.

"We came in this morning with the players and I asked them how they felt and they came up with answers and hopefully we will learn from it.

"I want the players to have an intelligence level which they can change to any given situation."

Brown has also highlighted Geovanni's equaliser as crucial for providing the confidence to go on and defeat Fulham.

"The first 20 minutes we didn't really cope with the way Fulham passed the ball, but when Geovanni scored that settled us down," added Brown.

"The emphasis is on the cliche of goals change games. Their goal gave them a lift and our goal gave us a lift and we got to half-time level.

"In the second half the fitness and the attitude of the players was first class."
