Etuhu: Could leave Sunderland

Skysports.com understands Fulham are showing an interest in Sunderland midfielder Dickson Etuhu.

The Nigerian could be allowed to leave the Stadium of Light following the summer arrival of Teemu Tainio from Tottenham Hotspur.

Etuhu has made 20 Premier League appearances for the Black Cats after joining from Norwich City 12 months ago, but missed the end of last season through injury.

He was the subject of an enquiry from Rangers earlier in the summer, but the acquisition of Pedro Mendes has solved Walter Smith's midfield problems.

However, Sunderland's Premier League rivals Fulham are now understood to be keen on signing Etuhu before the close of the transfer window.

There are also suggestions that Fulham could use Northern Ireland striker David Healy as part of a swap deal in a bid to land Etuhu.

Healy has been told by Fulham boss Roy Hodgson that his first-team opportunities are likely to be limited and he has been linked with Cardiff City.
