Toshack: Ready for 2010 campaign
Wales boss John Toshack has named his squad for the upcoming 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
The Welsh are set to face Azerbaijan in Cardiff on 6th September, before tackling Euro 2008 surprise package Russia in Moscow four days later.
West Ham duo James Collins and Craig Bellamy have been handed international recalls, despite both lacking match fitness.
Collins has figured in just 45 minutes of a reserve game after seven months out with a knee injury, while Bellamy picked up a hamstring problem in pre-season.
Despite the duo facing a race against time to prove their fitness, Toshack is desperate to include some Premier League experience in his youthful squad.
The veteran coach lent his youngsters to Under 21 boss Brian Flynn for last week's European Championship qualifier against Romania, but has named Wayne Hennessey, Garteh Bale, Chris Gunter, Aaron Ramsey, David Edwards, Joe Ledley, Ched Evans and Sam Vokes in his senior party this time around.
Toshack may be able release a couple of his younger players for a crucial Under 21 qualifier against Romania on 9th Spetember, but the road to South Africa will take priority.
