Palacios: Hands off

Steve Bruce has issued a firm hands-off warning to any clubs interested in Wigan Athletic midfielder Wilson Palacios.

The Honduran has created a big impression at the JJB Stadium since joining the club in January following a loan spell at Birmingham City.

He caught the eye in last weekend's 2-1 defeat at West Ham United and has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United.

Wigan boss Bruce is aware that Palacios has his price, but is confident of still having the player in his squad when the transfer window shuts.

Realistic

"Everybody has their price, it doesn't matter who it is, we've got to be realistic enough to know that," Bruce told Sky Sports News.

"However, it would take a hell of an offer at the moment to even tempt us because we're into the season.

"There are 10 days to go (until the transfer window closes) and we would struggle to get any replacement.

"So, the message is hands off, unless you've got a real lot of money."
