Celtic boss Gordon Strachan confirmed he would speak with goalkeeper Artur Boruc after the Poland international gifted Rangers two goals in the Ibrox side's 4-2 win at Parkhead.

Boruc was at fault for Daniel Cousin's opener when he was beaten at his near post, and for Kenny Miller's second when he fumbled Kirk Broadfoot's cross to gift the former Hoops striker a goal.

Boruc was axed from the Poland squad last week by national coach Leo Beenhakker along with international team-mates Dariusz Dudka and Radoslaw Majewski after allegations of late-night misbehaviour in the aftermath of a recent friendly against Ukraine.

The trio are banned for two matches, next month's World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and San Marino.

Boruc found himself in the headlines for the wrong reasons before the Old Firm clash after a report about his private life appeared in one newspaper.

Strachan alluded to the goals Boruc sloppily conceded as "bizarre", but would only say: "I will speak to Artur, see how he feels and we will analyse it from there."

Shocked

"At half-time I couldn't see that coming," added Strachan.

"I thought it was a good game but we dealt with their aerial threat and there was a minimum of chances.

"I felt comfortable and was looking forward to the second half.

"But through some bizarre goals and an excellent strike we found ourselves in a position which was difficult to claw back.

"If I was displeased I would tell the players first. We will look at the game again on Monday.

"In two out of three previous seasons we have lost the first Old Firm game and gone on to win the title so we can do it but it needs to be a great effort again.

"But the challenge doesn't scare me."
