Lampard does not fear United

Midfielder unconcerned by Ronaldo return

Frank Lampard is confident of beating Manchester United on Sunday regardless of whether or not Cristiano Ronaldo plays.

The Portuguese winger has yet to feature this season after summer ankle surgery but he is set to return to action in the UEFA Champions League in midweek and may start against Chelsea.

Lampard accepts that Ronaldo's inclusion would strengthen United but he believes Chelsea are playing well enough to cope with whatever comes their way.

"I'm not too concerned, really," Lampard told the Evening Standard.

"He's probably the best player in the world having achieved what he did last year - you can't take that away from him.

"But whether after a few months out they'll put him back in, I don't know. If they do we'll have to deal with that."

The Blues are top of the table after four games and Lampard is looking to increase the pressure on the chasing pack.

He said: "We're good enough to deal with United at their strongest - we shouldn't want them weak. If they are strong we still want to beat them."
