Hargreaves: Reveals targets

Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has targeted bettering last season's impressive trophy haul.

The Red Devils enjoyed double silverware glory in the 2007/08 campaign, lifting the Premier League and UEFA Champions League titles.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side stuttered during the early stages of the new term, but have begun to show signs of their conquering best.

And Hargreaves, who signed at Old Trafford from Bayern Munich last summer, believes the squad is capable of achieving further success in 2009.

Of his targets for the season, he said on the club's official website: "Within the team, to do what we did last season and more, which means competing in every competition.

"We need to peak at the important times when we have big games, and the ultimate goal is to match, or surpass, last season.

"It's a big ask, but we'll try. Personally, I want to be available for every game and have a healthy season."

Meanwhile, the Football Association has confirmed Patrice Evra's personal hearing for a charge of improper conduct relating to an incident at Chelsea on 26th April will not take place on Thursday.

The charge relates to a clash between Evra and Chelsea groundsman Sam Bethell during United's on-pitch warm-down following a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge towards the end of last season.
