Nigel Reo-Coker admits that Ashley Young was disappointed not to be called into the England squad.

Aston Villa ace Young was not called up by Fabio Capello for his latest England squad, despite the fact Joe Cole is injured and David Bentley was also left out.

Reo-Coker, who himself failed to get in, admitted his Villa colleague was disappointed.

"Ashley is disappointed," Reo-Coker told Sky Sports News.

"But there is nothing you can do despite perform as best as you can for Villa and continuing to do the best you can, there is nothing more you can do."

A host of Villa's squad have signed new deals of late, and Reo-Coker's was mentioned as being one of the next in line.

However, he insists that he has heard nothing about a new contract.

"I have no idea, I have not spoken to the manager," he said.
