O'Brien: Delighted with new deal
Bolton defender Andy O'Brien has pledged his future to the club by signing a new deal at the Reebok Stadium.
O'Brien has established himself as a key member of the Bolton side since his arrival from Portsmouth in the summer of 2007.
The former Newcastle man has inked a contract extension to keep him at Bolton until 2011 and he says he is as happy as he has ever been at the North West outfit.
"I'm eternally grateful for the opportunity that Bolton Wanderers gave me, and the way that the people at the club - the supporters, the manager Gary Megson and the players - have treated me," O'Brien told the club's official website.
"This has made me enjoy my football as much as I ever have done in my career, so hopefully I'll continue to do that and we'll pick up results.
"From my point of view, I'm happy at Bolton so if they were happy to keep me then there was never a problem.
"I'm delighted to have extended my contract and there's plenty of hard work ahead of me now."
The big striker has already equalled his goal tally for the whole of last season by scoring four goals in seven games this term and the former Blackburn man is keen to keep his rich vein of form going.
"I guess everything stems from the first game of the season against Stoke," Davies told the Manchester Evening News.
"I got a goal and scoring goals breeds confidence. So, if I'm not scoring now, I'm finishing disappointed.
"That's four in seven now and I am delighted. I just want to keep it going. And if I score and we get the win then it's even better."
Davies also joked that he hoped his form could see him earn a call-up to the England squad.
"As for England, there are enough strikers around but hopefully they will get a few injuries," smiled Davies.
