Young: England aim

Aston Villa forward Ashley Young remains hopeful he will be able to earn a place back in the England squad.

Young has again been overlooked by Fabio Capello for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Belarus, despite being involved when the Italian initially took charge in January.

Many pundits expected him to be included in the latest squad, given his recent form at club level and the absence of Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole through injury.

But Young, who knows what he needs to do to impress Capello, knows he may have to be patient before he is selected again.

Delighted

Young, speaking to the official website of the Professional Footballers' Association, said: "Hopefully, I can add to them fairly soon. I have to bide my time though.

"Hopefully my time will come again. I am delighted with my performances, I'm really happy with the way things are going.

"We (Young and Capello) have had a few chats when I've been in the squad.

"He's told me what he thinks but those conversations are between me and him, they're totally private."

Young's workload at club level has increased this season with Martin O'Neill's men involved in the Uefa Cup on top of their usual domestic schedule.

But the former Watford star is just happy to be playing regularly, especially with Villa in solid form so far this season.

Amazing

He added: "Any player at the club wants to play every game.

"Look at the amount of games Gareth Barry has played in the last few weeks, it's amazing, for club and country.

"No-one here is going to be volunteering for a rest, not the way things are going.

"When you're playing in a side that's doing really well, then everybody wants to be a part of that.

"Things are going really well and there's no-one who doesn't want to be involved."
