Rooney: On target against Kazakhstan

Wayne Rooney has admitted that he would like to start scoring goals more consistently.

The England striker scored twice in the 5-1 victory over Kazakhstan on Saturday to continue his hot streak.

Rooney has been in fine form for Manchester United in recent weeks but he accepts that throughout his career he has had difficult spells.

The 22-year-old, who has netted 17 times in 47 appearances for his country, is hungry for goals and hopes to torment Belarus on Wednesday.

"It's always been the case that my goals come all at once, then a little break and then they come again," Rooney said in the Daily Mirror.

"I would like to do it a bit more consistently and keep scoring all the time.
