Moyes: Five-year deal
Everton manager David Moyes has signed a new five-year contract at Goodison Park.
Moyes has been in talks with the club over an extension for some time but he has finally put pen to paper on a new deal.
The Scot, who took charge on Merseyside in March 2002, had admitted that the uncertainty over his future was affecting his side's start to the season.
Everton, who finished fifth last term, are still to win at home this season and are currently 15th in the Premier League table.
Moyes' men also crashed out of the Uefa Cup before the group stage after losing out to Belgian outfit Standard Liege over two legs.
The former Preston boss revealed at the weekend that an inspirational speech from Sir Bobby Robson persuaded him not to call time on his career with the Toffees.
Having now committed his long-term future to Everton his first challenge will be to guide the club back up the table, starting with Saturday's testing trip to Arsenal.
Moyes told the club's official website: "There have been many different things for different reasons but we are here now and the big thing for me is that I am at Everton, as far as I am concerned, for another five years and the job is to make us better than we have been.
"I am really excited and really pleased. I am pleased for everybody - I'm pleased for myself and my family who were desperate to get it signed and secured and it is always what I wanted to do.
"I have enjoyed my time here so far and I am looking forward to the next part as well. There is definitely a consistency at the club; players know what they are doing and staff know what they are doing.
"It's a great football club and I am privileged to be the manager.
"Since I took over six years ago, I think there has been an improvement and the job is that I want a similar improvement over the next five years or so.
"I want the ambition to be greater. I want the expectancy to be higher and I want Everton overall to be higher on the field and off the field, I am determined to try and take it forward."
Chairman Bill Kenwright added: "There have always been two people - myself and David - confident that the long term future of the manager would eventually be secured.
"The signatures of those two people are now on a contract.
"I am obviously very pleased that the contract, that I've always believed to be the most important contract, is now concluded."

This is brilliant news even though I was expecting it. I think Moyes went to the media to get the deal done and dusted quicker because he knew it was effecting the team's performance. Glad to have Moyes for the next 5 years. Champions League here we come.....again!

This is fantastic news for the blues, I don't feel it is a suprise though, as I always felt Moyes would sign and the media were making a bigger deal out of it than it really was. He is a fantastic manager and has been loyal to the club and the fans adore him, and hopefully this is just what the cub needs to start climbing the table and being near the top where they belong. Brilliant news. There's no denying that he's done a great job so far and I feel it's important that we have more British managers managing at the top. If we ever want the national team to be successful under an English coach, or British at least, then they need to be managing the top clubs!
