Evra: Won't face Celtic

Patrice Evra will miss Manchester United's UEFA Champions League tie with Celtic due to a hamstring strain.

The French full-back suffered the injury during the first half of United's 4-0 win over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday and was replaced by John O'Shea.

He was immediately rated doubtful for Tuesday's European clash with Celtic, but took part in training on Monday.

However, after only being able to play a limited part in the training session, Evra has now been ruled out of the meeting with the SPL champions.

Evra's absence is likely to lead to O'Shea coming in to the starting line-up at left-back, although Jonny Evans is also an option for the holders.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said on Sky Sports News: "It is too big a risk with hamstrings. I think that he will be okay for Saturday but not tomorrow."

Ferguson will also include Anderson and Carlos Tevez in his squad after the South American duo were left out of the West Brom win.

Brazilian midfielder Anderson and Argentine attacker Tevez were late in arriving back in Manchester after World Cup duty, but should be involved against Celtic.
