Burgmeier: Match-winner

Franz Burgmeier's last-gasp goal earned Darlington a hard-fought 2-1 win over Bradford on Monday night.

The Liechtenstein international struck the winner in the final minute in a spell of three goals in the last six minutes.

The game burst into life on 84 minutes when Neil Austin curled a superb free-kick from fully 30 yards high into the net over Bradford keeper Rhys Evans.

Bradford caught Darlington with a sucker punch a minute later when Omer Daley worked his way past a couple of challenges and fired his shot past Simon Brown.

The game looked set to end all-square until Burgmeier popped up to head home Robert Purdie's inviting cross.

The win lifts Darlington into the play-off spots in seventh just one point behind Bradford.
