Lampard: On target again

Frank Lampard admits it is getting crowded at the top as Chelsea look to fend off Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United at the Premier League summit.

The in-form midfielder has been in imperious form over the past few weeks and was again outstanding at the weekend as Chelsea romped to a 5-0 win at Middlesbrough.

Luiz Felipe Scolari's Blues certainly have the strut of champions so far this term but Lampard is refusing to get carried away due to the form of their title rivals.

Liverpool continue to win games they would in all likelihood have lost last season, while United are beginning to find their feet after a slow start to the campaign.

With Arsenal's football as entertaining as ever, the England schemer anticipates it could be a tight title race this season.

Message sent

"Everyone knows we mean business this season," Lampard told the Daily Star.

"We're all trying to send out messages but we are top and just want to stay there.

"But every one of us means business. Liverpool are getting results week in, week out - which they have not done in the past few years, so they will be a threat.

"Manchester United are coming strong, while Arsenal play great football."
