Siena president Giovanni Lombardi Stronati has reiterated his intention to give Brazilian Ronaldo a chance to train with a view to playing for his Serie A side.
The striker ruptured ligaments in his left knee while playing for AC Milan in February last season and was subsequently released at the end of the campaign.
The Brazilian has been recovering in his native Brazil with Flamengo, the club he supported as a boy and has targeted a return to action by January.
Stronati said: "It's an idea to which we are working. Someone told me he's thinking of hanging up his boots but I'd like to offer him a last chance.
"I've spoken with his agent and I proposed a contract for a sum of €100,000 for each goal."
Siena currently lie in 13th place in Serie A but have only managed to score seven goals in nine league games and with nine goals in 20 games during his brief spell at Milan, Stronati believes Ronaldo could solve the problem.
He said: "His goals could bring salvation to Siena. My side they play in a good way, Giampaolo is a great coach but we don't score a lot."
Ronaldo on the other hand seems to have other ideas over where his future lies.
He told his official website: "It is my dream to play for Flamengo in front of a packed Maracana. They are in pole position right now.
"It will depend a lot on how I'll be feeling in January, I don't want to go to Flamengo just because it is my dream or as a favour. It has to be on merit.
"It's not a decision that can be made right now in any case. I want to wait until January to see if I'll be in condition to get back to action again."
Even if Stronati fails in his attempt to land Ronaldo, the president reveals he has another ace up his sleeve.
He said: "I have another plan, another South American player. He plays in Chile. He's Argentinean, Gaston Cellerino."
