Johnson: Grateful to Fulham

Andy Johnson has expressed his delight after breaking his Fulham duck in the 2-0 victory over Wigan.

Johnson, who moved to Craven Cottage from Everton over the summer, scored twice in midweek to bring up a century of league goals.

He had not found the target since March prior to the match and admits he was getting a little anxious in his eagerness to make an impact for Fulham.

"I'm definitely relieved because it's taken a bit of time, but it often does to settle for a new club," Johnson said in the Daily Star.

Sharpness

"I'd like to thank everyone for being patient. I was injured when I first arrived and it has taken me four or five games to get my sharpness back.

"My belief in myself has never wavered though. I'll always believe that I'm going to score goals, just as I've done for the last seven or eight years."

Johnson is hoping to continue his fine form when Fulham take on Everton on Saturday.

It will be Johnson's first return to Goodison Park and he is excited about the occasion.

"I'm not too sure what reception I'll get, but I'm looking forward to it," he said.

"Of course I care what the reception is like because I spent two years there. I'm not a heartless person."
