Ashley Young has ended speculation over his long-term future by signing a new four-year contract at Aston Villa.

As revealed by skysports.com earlier this week Villa have moved to tie down the exciting midfielder to a new long-term deal.

The winger has been in contract discussions with manager Martin O'Neill over recent weeks and has now agreed fresh terms at Villa Park.

Young, who has been one of Villa's star performers this season, is now tied to the Premier League outfit until 2012.

The 23-year-old England international joined Villa in 2007 after leaving Watford and he has scored 14 goals in 61 appearances since that time.

Young is a vital part of O'Neill's plans as he attempts to secure UEFA Champions League qualification this season.
