Everton manager David Moyes expects that West Ham will feel aggrieved to have lost to his side, but has praised his players for the manner of their impressive comeback.

Moyes' side were trailing the Hammers until the 83rd minute, when a header from Joleon Lescott and a brace from Louis Saha earned Everton an unlikely 3-1 victory.

The turnaround came as a harsh blow for West Ham who were looking good value for their victory - a fact which Moyes acknowledges.

"Deservedly we were a goal down, West Ham played very well in the first half, albeit when they got the goal I thought we had just started to play better in the second half," the Scot told Sky Sports.

"But I have to credit the lads, we stuck at it, we never gave in and we ended up scoring three good goals."

A good afternoon

Saha was undoubtedly the star of the late-show for Everton, grabbing two goals in as many minutes to clinch the win for the away side.

The Frenchman was a summer signing for Moyes' men and the Toffees boss believes that his side are only now beginning to see the best of the 30-year-old frontman.

"He's beginning to settle in and I think his fitness was something he wanted to get back," added Moyes.

"He's been training all the time, he's been available for the games and I think for maybe 60 or 70 minutes today it was looking like one of these days when you don't get much joy, but he came up with the goods.

"He got into good positions to cross the ball in, he also got in for the shot for the second goal and obviously he got the third one. It was a good afternoon for him."

Result

The win gives Everton their third consecutive victory, lifting the club up to seventh in the league after securing ten points from a possible 12 in recent weeks.

Despite this impressive form, all but one of Everton's goals have been scored in the final ten minutes of their matches.

However, Moyes is more than happy for his side to continue their last-gasp performances, as long as they continue to win.

"You're going to probably hear me use the word 'result' more than I use anything at the moment because I can't honestly turn around and say that it has been 'performance' that I've been able to use," admitted the Everton boss.

"But the results will do at the moment, and if the performances come later then I'll take that."
