Fulham striker Andrew Johnson is confident his team can put an end to Tottenham Hotspur's rejuvenation under new boss Harry Redknapp.

Johnson scored the opener and won the penalty which clinched Fulham a 2-1 victory against Newcastle United on Sunday and at the same time lifted them up to 10th in the table.

Tottenham travel to Craven Cottage on Saturday and remain unbeaten since Redknapp took over, a run which has included Premier League wins over Liverpool and Manchester City.

Despite their impressive run of form Johnson is still adamant that Fulham can continue their climb up the table with three more points against Redknapp's men.

He told The Evening Standard: "They are in great form but so are we and if we play the way we did against Newcastle then we will be fine.

"We shouldn't be scared of anyone the way we played here. We created some great chances and we played some great football.

"Spurs have had a great run but I would have been more concerned if they had lost at Manchester City yesterday because they would have come out firing on Saturday.

"The bubble has got to burst sooner or later and hopefully we can do that."

Johnson was involved in controversy regarding the penalty he earned with Newcastle interim boss Joe Kinnear suggesting the Fulham striker fouled Claudio Cacapa before the defender brought him down, but Johnson believes otherwise.

He said: "It was shoulder to shoulder. He went down but the ref didn't give it."

Ambitions

The 27-year-old who signed from Everton for £10.5million in the summer has now scored three goals in as many games and his opener on Sunday was scored under the watchful eye of England boss Fabio Capello.

But Johnson admits that he is not focusing on an England recall for the time being.

He added: "Although I have ambitions to get back in the England squad it is not the main priority at the moment.

"The main thing is getting points for Fulham and getting back to decent form which I have managed to do over the last couple of games.

"I want to keep scoring goals for Fulham. A call-up for England would be a bonus. If I score and play as well as I can for Fulham, hopefully, that will bring other things."
