Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is looking forward to seeing Fraizer Campbell in action as he prepares to make changes for the Carling Cup clash against Liverpool.

Redknapp's priority remains the Premier League and he plans to cast his eye over some of his fringe players in Wednesday's contest at White Hart Lane.

"I'm going to make one or two changes to give the lads who haven't played an opportunity," he confirmed.

The likes of Paul Stalteri, Adel Taarabt, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Hossam Ghaly could all be involved, while Campbell is expected to start up front.

The striker, who joined Spurs on loan from Manchester United at the start of September, has impressed Redknapp in training.

"I'm going to make one or two changes," said Redknapp.

"One or two of the lads will get a chance because they are good players but it will still be a good team.

"I need to see the likes of Fraizer Campbell. I've seen nothing of him but he's looked terrific in training.

"When he came on the other night in the Uefa Cup game he was lively and a real prospect. Hull offered £7million to Manchester United so he's definitely not a bad player."

Gomes backing

Heurelho Gomes has been criticised for a number of erratic performances this season but Redknapp has once again backed the Brazilian goalkeeper to show his quality.

"He did all right against Manchester City [at the weekend]," said Redknapp.

"He has just got to settle in and understand what is required in England.

"When you talk to people about him, they talk highly of his qualities. Tony Adams did when he returned from Holland.

"Gomes took PSV to the semi-finals of the Champions League almost single-handedly, by all accounts.

"He was that good. It is a game of confidence and he has had one or two iffy days. Hopefully now his confidence will start to grow and we will see what he can do."
