Celtic and Rangers have avoided each other in the semi-finals of the Co-operative Insurance Cup .

Holders Rangers have been drawn against Falkirk, while Celtic will tackle Dundee United in the last four.

The Old Firm are on course for their first meeting in the final since 2003, when Rangers won 2-1 at Hampden Park.

There could also be a repeat of last season's final, which Rangers won on penalties after Kris Boyd twice equalised against Dundee United in a 2-2 draw.

Falkirk are in their second semi-final in three years having lost 3-0 to Kilmarnock at Fir Park in their previous encounter

The ties will be played on 27th and 28th of January, with the final taking place on 15th March.
