Allardyce: Ready to return
I've never experienced failure really as a manager. I don't consider that all the clubs I've been at that they failed while I was there.
Sam Allardyce.
Quotes of the week
Former Bolton Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce is eager to find a club which matches his ambition as he prepares to return to management.
Allardyce has been without a job since leaving Newcastle United at the start of the year and has been linked with several positions in recent months.
He is now eager to get back into the game and believes his track record proves he can be successful when he lands a new role.
And Allardyce also feels that his short time at St James' Park should not be judged as a failure, despite being sacked after just eight months.
"I just want a football club that has a great ambition to be successful," Allardyce told Sky Sports News.
"My life is about trying to win a football match whenever that football match comes around. The only time I'm ever happy is when we've won, and even then I'm never satisfied.
"So, I need to go somewhere that has that ambition to go and achieve some results and achieve some success.
"I've never experienced failure really as a manager. I don't consider that all the clubs I've been at that they failed while I was there.
"Even though I only had a short time at Newcastle, I wasn't really a failure, it was just a knee-jerk reaction for whatever reason, but that's long gone.
"I left them in a very healthy position in 11th. We had the best start for 10 years, with 18 points after 10 games, but it wasn't to be, there are no grudges there.
"The rest of my career, if you look back on it, there's always been taking a football club from wherever it might have been to a higher status and I've always felt I've left them in a better position than when I first took over.
"In the next job I hope to do exactly the same again."
