Allan McGregor accepts it will be hard to replace Craig Gordon as Scotland's No.1 on a full-time basis.

Sunderland goalkeeper Gordon will miss Wednesday's friendly with Argentina, live on Sky Sports 1, due to an ankle injury.

Gordon's absence will pave the way for McGregor to collect his third cap for Scotland and possibly play a full 90 minutes of international football for the first time.

The Rangers keeper is eager to make the most of his opportunity at Hampden Park, but doubts his prospects of staying in George Burley's side once Gordon is fit again.

"I think it will be hard to move him," McGregor said. "All I'm doing is looking at this game just now.

"It's disappointing for Craig having to miss out on a game like this. I'm just going to try to do well and see what happens from there.

"I've said before it will be very hard to move him because he has been in there before me, he is consistent. He has a lot of experience playing for his country.

"I'm just happy to be part of the squad and if I get a chance I'll try to take it.

"I'll just enjoy the time I get and hopefully do well."
